When recalling our travels in Europe, my wife and I may not remember much about the museums, monuments and cathedrals we’ve visited over the years. Rather, it’s the fond memories of the times
we lived like locals that stay with us.  

So, when we vacation abroad, we no longer try to see as much as we can, in as many places as we can,
with the limited amount of time that we have. Instead, we now focus on gaining a more authentic
experience by becoming part of the communities we visit.

We start by renting an apartment in a place that has much to offer, and one that is off the radar of
the typical tourist. After we unpack and settle in, we pursue a travel philosophy of living like locals
where we enjoy the rhythms of a delightful European town or neighborhood as temporary residents,
